SINGLE CLICK
- As you move the mouse, your mouse pointer moves around the screen. You select items by moving the mouse until the arrow points to them and then click the left side of the mouse (left click).
DOUBLE CLICK
- To open programs (icons) you have to double-click (click the left side of the mouse quickly two times - think "knock-knock").
- TIP: If double clicking is difficult, you can just click the item once to highlight/select it and then hit enter.
CLICK AND DRAG
- You can move items around by clicking and dragging. Move the mouse pointer to an item. Click and hold the button (grab it) - don't let go while you move the mouse around to "drag" it. The item should "stick" to the mouse pointer until you let go of the mouse button to "drop" it.
INSERTION POINT
- When you are entering text, you need to click in the field/box where you want your words to appear. When you click, a blinking line | will appear and you can begin typing.
RIGHT CLICK
- If you click the right side of the mouse, in many programs, and in the background of the desktop, it will reveal special menus to allow you to customize or access additional controls.
